About our school

The school first opened in 1944, as a one teacher school, after committed lobbying from the community to the state government.

Oyster Bay Public School is defined by its core values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility.

The school is committed to using restorative practices in all its actions. The school community engages positively with the school and has an active parent body.

The school has two sites and caters for 430 students. It is the hub of the Oyster Bay community and provides students with tremendous opportunities across all curriculum areas.

Oyster Bay Public School exhibits outstanding programs in transition, student leadership, creative and performing arts, science, sport and technology.

All staff value professional development and regularly engage in professional learning to ensure current knowledge of quality teaching practices.

The year ahead provides our students with innovative, exciting and challenging experiences.

School song

Here at our school

Our values shine through

Let us always show RESPECT

In everything we do

Here at our school

We can strive to be

Children who will proudly show

Through all our days

And all our lives

By work and play we learn

To grow and show RESILIENCE

Which gives the best return

Here at our school

The 3 R’s will rule

Each for all

For all to say

We’re a credit to our school each day

In everything

At Oyster Bay

School creed

This is our school

Let peace dwell here

Let the rooms and the playgrounds

Be full of contentment and joy

Let our values abide here

Respect, Responsibility and Resilience

Let us remember

As many hands build a house

So many hearts make a school

Each for all
