At Oyster Bay Public School, we offer a variety of programs in the classroom and across the school to help students build new skills, make friends and explore new interests.

Our extra-curricular highlights
Dance Groups
Through our partnership with Groove Nation, students can join a range of dance groups including Kindergarten, Year 1, Year 2, Junior Hip Hop, Senior Boys Hip Hop, Senior Ensemble and our Senior Dance Company. Our dancers perform at major events such as the Sutherland Shire Schools Music Festival, the Oyster Bay Art and Craft Festival, the Sydney Eisteddfod and the St George Eisteddfod.
Chess club
Our Chess Club gives students the opportunity to develop strategic thinking, problem solving and concentration in a supportive and enjoyable environment. Students take part in friendly competitions and lunchtime sessions that help build confidence, patience and teamwork.
PSSA and Sport
Students have the opportunity to represent Oyster Bay Public School in a wide range of PSSA sports, including netball, soccer, teeball, softball, AFL, basketball, touch football, NRL and cricket. These competitions help students build teamwork, sportsmanship and pride in representing their school.
Excursions and Stage 3 Camps
Our excursions enrich classroom learning by giving students real-world experiences connected to their studies. Stage 3 students also enjoy annual camp opportunities that build independence, teamwork and confidence while creating memorable experiences with their peers.
Choir
Our school choir provides students with the chance to develop vocal skills, confidence and a love of music. Choir members perform at school events and community celebrations, including the Sutherland Shire Schools Music Festival and the Oyster Bay Art and Craft Festival.
Leadership Opportunities
Leadership is an important part of school life at Oyster Bay Public School. Students are encouraged to model our core values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility through a range of leadership roles. Opportunities include Parliamentarians, Library Monitors, Tech Team, Mini Ministers, House Captains and class-based roles across both sites. Our student leaders help run assemblies, support school events and contribute to the positive culture of our K to 2 and 3 to 6 sites.
Aboriginal Languages Classroom
All students from Kindergarten to Year 6 participate in Aboriginal languages and cultural learning in our Gamarada Gunyah classroom. This dedicated space provides a welcoming environment where students learn local language, explore cultural knowledge and deepen their understanding of Aboriginal histories and perspectives.
