Extension Classes

In line with the NSW Department of Education’s High Potential and Gifted Education (HPGE) Policy, our school is committed to supporting every student to achieve their educational potential.

The Extension Class is designed to provide extension and enrichment in Mathematics and English for students who have demonstrated high achievement or strong potential in these areas. Students will have the opportunity to work on challenging, differentiated tasks that extend them beyond their current level of mastery, as informed by assessment data and teacher observations. Our extension classes include a Stage 1 composite class (Years 1 and 2), a Stage 2 class (Years 3 and 4) and a Stage 3 class (Years 5 and 6).

The program aims to:
• Extend students’ skills and knowledge in Mathematics and English.
• Provide learning experiences that encourage critical thinking, creativity, and problem solving.
• Create a supportive environment where students can collaborate with peers of similar learning needs.
