Our Split Site School

Oyster Bay Public School is a Kindergarten to Year 6 school that operates across two campuses, located approximately 300 metres apart. This unique structure allows us to provide safe, nurturing and age-appropriate learning environments while still functioning as one connected school community.

Phillip Street Site (K–2)

Our Phillip Street site is home to our youngest learners from Kindergarten to Year 2. This nurturing early-years environment supports a strong start to school, with calm learning spaces, dedicated playground areas and opportunities for exploration, play and early literacy and numeracy foundations.

Short Street Site (3–6)

Our Short Street site caters for students in Years 3 to 6. This campus provides engaging learning spaces, specialist facilities and opportunities for greater independence, leadership and responsibility as students prepare for high school.

How Our Split Site Works

Although our school operates across two locations, we function as one cohesive K–6 community. Staff collaborate regularly, programs are aligned across both campuses, and every student is supported through a consistent approach to wellbeing and learning.

Shared Activities and Connections

Whenever possible, students from both sites come together for whole-school events and experiences, including:

Buddy Program

We run a successful Kindergarten and Year 6 Buddy Program, which helps younger students feel connected and supported. Buddies visit each other throughout the year, building positive relationships across sites.

Transition From Year 2 to Year 3

A dedicated Year 2 to Year 3 transition program runs in Term 4 each year. Students visit the Short Street campus, meet teachers, explore learning spaces and become familiar with routines and expectations. This careful planning ensures a smooth and confident move to the primary site.
